70 Miles and Running

Nearly 3 months ago my Chiweenie Bishop decided to dart out of the house as I was on my way to work one night. I decided not to chase him this time since he's always usually around the corner and my neighbors know who Bishop belongs to. 12 hours later that’s when I started to worry, Bishop didn't have his collar on due to getting his bath the previous that evening.

After I initially reported my lost pet with HomeAgain, I received the first call from a neighbor who saw one of my HomeAgain Lost Pet Posters that we posted. She said she saw Bishop, but nothing came of it.

Our 2nd call was from a shelter over 70 miles away. I was told Bishop was scanned when he was brought in as a stray but his microchip didn't register. So he was put on the ready to adopt list.

On the day of the public adoption the keen insight of the shelter staff noticed that Bishop was neutered and slightly trained and decided to scan him a second time before letting him be adopted. That’s when his microchip I.D. registered back to us. The shelter called HomeAgain who then gave the shelter our contact information. Now I’m proud to say that Bishop is back home and as happy as ever.

  2. Verify that your contact information is correct and upload a recent picture of your missing dog, cat, or other pet.
  3. Create a Lost Pet poster using the uploaded photo.
  4. Send out Rapid Lost Pet Alerts to vet clinics, animal shelters, and PetRescuers within a 25-mile radius of where your pet was lost.

  1. Call 1-888-HOMEAGAIN (1-888-466-3242). Our Lost Pet Specialists are available 24/7.
  2. Explain the situation to your Lost Pet Specialist, who will create a Lost Pet poster using the most recent photo on your pet’s HomeAgain profile.
  3. Your Lost Pet Specialist will immediately send out Rapid Lost Pet Alerts to vet clinics, animal shelters, and PetRescuers within a 25-mile radius of where your pet was lost.
